In reading your posts you see lies and deceit under every rock, in every place, everywhere. Reconciliation is a most worthy Christian goal. It is a desired outcome. If you see subversion in even this, perhaps you should work through some counseling for yourself to get to a better place. Organizations and churches are simply not as evil as you perceive.
James, responses like this is what makes it “safer” for victims to not speak up when abuse is happening. You discredit the sacrifice made by any victim who comes forward to keep the light on by attacking them with poor judgement. If the church is to be safe for the sheep the lights need to stay on. Exposure should not be made to be evil as if it’s the work of Satan and those exposing in need of “some counseling.” She is not stating reconciliation is bad, she is helping victims understand true reconciliation may not be desired above the leadership saving face and continuing the ministry at the cost of the sheep. It would be very helpful for you to be aware of how harmful your voice may be to victims of abuse who already know they will be seen by most as “bitter”by stepping forward. Any of the books she is citing would be a helpful read if you truly value reconciliation in the body. I would challenge you as a fellow member of His body, to not add burdens to those already crushed in the church for the sake of appearing like you understand reconciliation better than they. Most have been fighting harder than you assume. Keep it in the light.
